There are many different ways to prepare bacon, but one of my favorites is the crispy bacon jerky recipe. Those who have doubts from the start can relax, as there is no difficulty in preparing a good bacon jerky recipe.
All you need is a good recipe, the right kitchen utensils, and of course the ingredients, although the latter mostly depends on the recipe you’ve chosen. The Internet is really full of very interesting recipes, some of them don’t take a lot of time, while others are just the opposite.
This is great news for bacon jerky lovers as it lets you experience the flavor.
Recipes assume the use of an oven or food dehydrator (often both). So, it doesn’t matter if you have both devices or just one of them, you can easily prepare a delicious bacon jerky. (I personally prefer to use a food dehydrator ).

Easy Bacon Jerky recipe for Home
One advantage of the bacon jerky recipe is its long shelf life, which means you can prepare it for ironing without worrying that it will spoil after a few hours. You can find various types of bacon in stores, although prices can be disappointing, as can different types of additives in many cases (preservatives, etc.).
Only with a homemade jerky bacon recipe can you be sure that it is made with very good quality bacon and that it does not contain any preservatives. Plus, you save money if you have a large family and a high demand for delicious bacon jerky.
Tools needed for jerky bacon recipe :

Ingredients for jerky bacon recipe:

Step 1: Preparations
When buying bacon, make sure it is as low in fat as possible. If you freeze bacon in the fridge, simply thaw it much sooner. If you have the bacon ready, we can move on to the essential step of preparing the bacon marinade.
The truth is, it’s the second most important thing after cooking. The marinade determines the flavor of the bacon and affects the final (visual) result. This is the place for all kinds of culinary experiments, once you feel confident preparing bacon jerky.
For now though, just follow my recipe and simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix everything together (brown sugar, cup honey, 1/2 cup sriracha, and 1 teaspoon ground black pepper).
Then take the bacon and make sure it’s really thawed and dry (use paper towels to dry). Mix the dry bacon in the bowl with the finished marinade until the entire surface of the bacon is coated.

Step 2: Cook
As you can see, there are several ways to prepare bacon. Not everyone has a food dehydrator, so I decided to show that other devices can also be used.
First, we are going to put it in the oven, prepare the baking sheet, the aluminum foil, and the wire rack. Set the temperature to 170-180 degrees F and place the foil on the baking sheet.
When cooking, there’s a lot of fat running down the bacon, so it’s a good idea to cover the pan with foil so that when you’re done cooking, you can simply throw away the dirty sheet instead of wasting time and nerves on the manual. sheet cleaning.
Then place the bacon all over the wire rack and when the oven has reached the right temperature, place it directly on the baking sheet. Do not place the bacon directly on the baking sheet, it only serves to collect the fat that runs off the bacon.
When placing the bacon, make sure the edges do not touch, as it prevents even cooking.
How long do you leave the bacon? This mostly depends on the thickness of the bacon, but it usually takes about 3 hours to use this recipe. Monitor the cooking process from time to time to ensure everything runs as expected and the bacon doesn’t burn.
If the bacon is just the right texture after cooking, remove it and place it on a paper towel to dry. Wait a while for it to cool and start eating or packing some of the servings in the fridge for later.
Using food dehydrator
I prefer to prepare bacon jerky with a food dehydrator for this, but I must warn you that this is quite a time-consuming method when it comes to the total time to prepare bacon jerky, although the results are worth it.
To remember! You guys can’t dry raw bacon, it’s dangerous and can lead to food poisoning from bacteria present in raw meat.
That’s why you should start by properly preparing (cooking) bacon using an oven for this, for example. Above I described the oven method step by step, I recommend it because it allows you to prepare seasoned bacon, which you cannot do in a skillet, for example.
So when the bacon is done from the oven, remove it and dry it well. Then turn on the food dehydrator, set the maximum temperature, and only add the bacon when the maximum temperature is reached.
From that point on, turn the bacon every hour and repeat for the next three hours or so. It’s hard to say clearly how long it will take, it all depends on the type of dehydrator and its potency. That’s why I insist that you check the texture of the bacon every hour to see how long it takes for it to be perfect.
When you finish drying the bacon, wait a moment for it to cool down and start eating, or put it in the fridge. If you are planning to freeze the bacon for later eating, place it in vacuum bags. The advantage of bacon jerky prepared in this way is its long shelf life.
A small disadvantage is the long preparation time, together they take around 8 to 10 hours.
